A member of Congress is calling for the arrest of Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, who was No. 2 on Kamala Harris’ failed Democrat ticket in the 2024 presidential race and now even has dropped his bid for re-election to the office he holds.

It’s because Walz is threatening to activate his state’s National Guard in response to President Donald Trump’s dispatch of hundreds of federal officers to that state to enforce the nation’s immigration laws.

That erupted into what amounted to a firefight this week when a woman, protesting the presence of federal officers and their enforcement of federal law, apparently drove her vehicle at them. They responded with gunfire and she was killed.

Walz immediately announced, “We do not need any further help from the federal government. To Donald Trump and [Homeland Security Secretary] Kristi Noem: You’ve done enough.”

He continued, “I’ve issued a warning order to prepare the Minnesota National Guard. These National Guard troops are our National Guard troops. Minnesota will not allow our community to be used as a prop in a national political fight.”

He admitted he didn’t have a plan to deploy any troops, but announced, “We’ve never been at war with our federal government.”

His state has been wracked by allegations of social services fraud in its Somali immigrant community. Estimates are that billions of tax dollars have been stolen and used for trips, luxury cars and properties, diamonds and exotic sports cars.

Some of the schemes have been as simple as claiming to have had a daycare set up and demanding payment for serving hundreds of children, when no services ever were provided.

It was only a few hours before Rep. Nancy Mace, R-S.C,. responded to Walz’ implied threats.

“Tim Walz just issued a ‘warning order’ to prepare the Minnesota National Guard for deployment. Let me remind Governor Walz: President Trump is the Commander in Chief. Using your National Guard to obstruct federal law enforcement violates the Supremacy Clause. Inciting rebellion or insurrection against the authority of the United States is also a federal crime under 18 U.S.C. § 2383. President Trump should have him arrested and charged accordingly.”

The shooting happened in a confrontation between 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good, a woman whose wife also was on the scene. They apparently were protesting the presence of ICE agents in Minnesota.

As she was in her vehicle, several agents approached and ordered her to get out.

Instead, she reversed the vehicle, then suddenly moved forward. One ICE agent who was in front of the vehicle fired, hitting her.

Federal officials said the woman tried to run down the officers.
