Disgraced Former Congressman Anthony Weiner Gets 21-Month Prison Stint

By: - September 25, 2017

Anthony Weiner, husband to Hillary Clinton ally Huma Abedin, received a 21-month prison sentence today for his sexual proclivities involving lewd sexting messages sent to a child throughout a two-month period in early 2016.

Former Democratic congressman Anthony Weiner fell from grace when his penchant for privately sending sexually-oriented messages and organic pictures of himself to a 15-year-old girl in N. Carolina hit public airwaves. Married to Hillary Clinton top aide Abedin, Anthony Weiner found himself in the heart of another FBI investigation after they seized his laptop and found emails related to Hillary Clinton corresponding to Abedin in the mix of his child sex exploits.

That prompted then-FBI Director James Comey to announce the reopening of the Hillary Clinton email scandal investigation, probing through email messaging between then-presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and Abedin, her “wing-man” during the political campaign.

Broken Pieces

Hard to forget what a firestorm that FBI announcement made just as Presidential Election 2016 was in the home stretch. Hillary certainly didn’t forget it, and she still clings to blaming Mr. Comey for her political woes.

In Hillary Clinton’s book “What Happened” she chronicles not only her feelings on Weiner’s sexual proclivities investigation at the time but also those of Abedin (who has since filed for divorce from Weiner). Mrs. Clinton wrote, “When we heard this, Huma looked stricken. Anthony had already caused so much heartache. And now this.”

“The crime I committed is my rock bottom. I was a very sick man for a long period of time, but I am also responsible for the damage I have done. I have no excuse.”

The NY Daily News called Weiner a “perverted serial texter” and also published Weiner’s sexting included “rape fantasies.”

One can imagine the shock of a wife whose husband (a sitting Congressman and NYC mayoral candidate) was outed for sexually preying on a child. Weiner and Abedin have a 5-year-old child of their own. One can also imagine the oddity of that kind of information being entangled with communiques between a US presidential candidate and her right-hand administrator. Further, imagine the exhalation of James Comey after arriving at the crossroads and digesting the bizarre nature of powerful elitist individuals he had ensnared in a web of their own weaving.

As a career policeman, there is nothing more rewarding to an investigator than fortuitously discovering other unlawful behavior while legally sifting through dirt piles left by another. Justice is served in different ways.

New York City acting-US Attorney Joon Kim stated, “Anthony Weiner, a former Congressman and candidate for mayor, asked a girl who he knew to be 15 years old to display her naked body and engage in sexually explicit behavior for him online. Justice demands that this type of conduct be prosecuted and punished with time in prison.”

Today, justice was served upon disgraced legislator Anthony Weiner who, for his part, told U.S. District Judge Denise Cote, “the crime I committed is my rock bottom. I was a very sick man for a long period of time, but I am also responsible for the damage I have done. I have no excuse.” He wept through his prepared speech:

Huma Abedin chose not to attend her soon-to-be-ex-husband’s prison sentencing but wrote to the court, saying, “This is not a letter I ever imagined I would write, but, with Anthony, I have repeatedly found myself in circumstances I never imagined,” as reported by the New York Daily News.

Anthony Weiner aka “Carlos Danger” (online sex chat alias) is expected to commence his prison sentence on November 6, 2017.
