OpsLens Deck of 52 Most Wanted Post 9/11 Frontline Leaders

In 2018, as a spin-off and salute to the original 2003 deck of 52 Most Wanted playing cards, let’s honor post 9/11 frontline leaders here at home. Once a week, for 52 weeks this year, OpsLens will post a card highlighting one of the 52 Most Wanted Post 9/11 Frontline Leaders. You’ll learn the top facts about their business or organization, as well as why they made the list, which comes down to impact, scalability, health, and unique value proposition.

I encourage you to look for these weekly updates, share the card with your network, and support or buy the products and services they offer. See the 52 Most Wanted Post 9/11 Frontline Leaders launch story here.

Queen of Hearts | Dog Tag Brewing

Former U.S. Marine and founder Seth Jordan is on a mission. He believes the current and future generation needs to learn about the individuals who gave their lives in service to this country post 9/11. Yet with fewer than one percent of our society having worn a uniform since the September 11 attacks, our nation has never experienced such a dramatic divide between those who have skin in the game and those who have no connection to the military. He was so bothered by this, in fact, that it became the catalyst for him to take action. Utilizing a beverage Americans of all stripes enjoy and consume, he and 9 other veterans launched Dog Tag Brewing Foundation in 2015. Teaming up with PABST Brewing Co., Legacy Lager is available in 48 states and can be purchased at thousands of locations. The business model is clear—aspire to be like Newman’s Own Foundation and self-fund the work devoted to Gold Star Families who honor their fallen loved ones though legacy-building initiatives.

The beer—albeit highly rated and one of the first to utilize the technology to make individual cans (the second to do variable printing was this little brand you may have heard of: Coca-Cola)—is simply the vehicle. The work—the vision—is that the product brings awareness and raises funds to honor post 9/11 fallen warriors in ways that are meaningful to their families. Seth has personally experienced and believes helping others helps you heal; and a focused impact felt at the local level is the model that will succeed and be a community unifier. The foundation is a publicly supported, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization that currently relies upon the generosity of a wide array of individuals, businesses, and 100 percent of net profits from Dog Tag beer are used to fund new and existing legacy projects. To date, over 70 Gold Star Families have been supported, and the first run of dedication cans honored 36 of our nation’s post 9/11 fallen warriors.

“What means more to me than buying our beer is if you simply find a way to help a local Gold Star Family charity or cause. Help out at their golf tournament or contribute to the scholarship program they started in honor of their loved one.  These families are turning their pain into purpose, helping their local communities in the name of their loved one, and leaving a legacy for other Americans to be inspired by.” – Seth Jordan
