President Donald Trump on Sunday announced an “energy ceasefire” in the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia.
In a brief statement on Truth Social, Trump indicated: “Effective immediately, there is an ENERGY CEASEFIRE in the War between Russia and Ukraine.
“Both parties have agreed. Do not break it! Thank you for your attention to this matter.”
Trump did not provide more specifics on terms of the ceasefire, and neither country has publicly commented.
The declaration comes a day after Trump slammed Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky for attacking diesel refineries in Russia and contributing to a global shortage of the fuel.
“Zelenksy could have settled this war many times,” Trump said Saturday. “He chooses not to.”
“We said you could do whatever you want to Russia [but] don’t hit the refineries, because that’s a world problem that’s caused. And he wants to make problems for the world. He wants to make problems for our farmers, our ranchers, with diesel fuel. Because Russia supplies a large portion of the diesel fuel throughout the world.”
“He better damn well stop,” Trump stressed.
🚨 BREAKING: President Trump announces an immediate ENERGY CEASEFIRE between Russia and Ukraine after Zelensky kept striking refineries
GREAT NEWS! 👏🏻
“Effective immediately, there is an ENERGY CEASEFIRE in the War between Russia and Ukraine. Both parties have agreed. Do not break it!”
Don’t put it past Zelensky to break this one too. I do not trust him. Hopefully he doesn’t try to block peace again!
If Zelensky doesn’t want Russian diesel flooding the world, stop blowing up their refineries!
