Master Pete Canavan- Martial Artist and Self Defense Instructor
For over 20 years, Master Pete Canavan has trained thousands of men, women and children how to defend themselves. He holds 4th degree black belt certifications in the traditional Korean martial arts of Tae Kwon Do and Hapkido from the World Hapkido Federation, the United States Tae Kwon Do Council, the North American Hapkido Tae Kwon Do Federation. He is also ranked in traditional Samurai swordsmanship (Eishin-Ryu Iaijutsu) by Nippon Kobodo Jikishin-Kai USA. Other training includes Kuk Sool Won, Karate, Krav Maga, Judo, Aikido, Wing Chun Kung Fu, and Jiu Jitsu.

Master Pete is proficient with many weapons including the Monadnock (expandable baton), Tonfa (PR-24 control baton), Escrima (short sticks), Karambit (knife), Cane, Staff, Sai, Nunchaku, Three-Section Staff, Kumdo (sword), and Kama (sickle). He is also an Act 235 Lethal Weapons Certified Agent by the Pennsylvania State Police. Pete has extensive experience with handguns, rifles and shotguns and has been a CCW (concealed carry weapon) holder for over 15 years. He has fired thousands of rounds while training and maintaining his firearms proficiency. In addition, he is First Aid, CPR and AED certified.

Pete is available for group or private instruction for law enforcement and security professionals as well as civilians. Consulting services are also available. He is available for interviews, speaking, and article writing.
