An autopsy of Jeffrey Epstein has uncovered some rather disturbing findings. It appears that Epstein had sustained numerous broken bones in his neck, further fueling speculation that he may have been “suicided” at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in NYC.
One of the broken bones was the hyoid bone, which is located near the Adam’s apple. This bone can break when people hang themselves. However, experts note, this bone is more commonly broken as the result of strangulation. The findings are sure to spark further conspiracy theories given that Epstein was supposed to be under suicide watch.
Many are questioning how Epstein would have been able to hang himself. Prisoners at risk of committing suicide are usually placed in rooms that are all but suicide-proof. The prisoners are often refused sheets and other materials that they could use to hang themselves. Uniforms provided are likewise designed to quickly tear under weight and potential hanging points are removed.
The New York Times has already reported that investigations found that two guards were allegedly asleep when they should have been keeping a close eye on Epstein. It appears that these guards also falsified records to conceal that factor. It’s odd, however, that guards would risk napping with such a high-profile and high-risk client under their watch. The guards have been placed on administrative leave.
Many speculate that Epstein had dirt on numerous powerful people. Names commonly thrown around include former President Bill Clinton and current President Donald Trump. Epstein had previously been charged and found guilty (and was facing additional charges) related to an alleged child sex ring.
The investigation into Epstein’s shocking death continues but it may be a long time, if ever, before the public is provided with satisfactory answers.
