Once again we thank Dem Hollywood for their recently annual Reelect Trump rally, aka The Oscars.
It’s good for us and insane for them to remind America that champagne Marxist movie stars who hate the president have nothing in common with many of the rest of us. Next year’s Oscars should be even better, as the assembled pervs, rapists, and hasbeens will spout crazy anti-Trump venom and clinch the heartland for the president.
As such, we have to ask ourselves: Will someone in Hollywood and/or New York wake up to the fact that every time Dem entertainers go political these days they alienate just the people they need for their icons to be elected? Isn’t there a smart PR agent there who has the guts to tell them to shut the hell up?
But even if there was, the Dems just can’t help themselves. Remember the 1974 Oscars and Shirley MacLaine’s love note to the Chicoms? The glee Oscar night had over the fall of Saigon in ’75? Vanessa Redgrave in 1978? The multitude of hard left drama club agitprop since? The trend continues as of late.
First was last Friday when Bill Maher insulted all of Middle America with “…the most affluent and educated people are clustered in just a few cities… We [NYC and L.A.] have Chef Wolfgang Puck, they have Chef Boyardee.” Wow. I bet the DNC just loved that promo for their push on prairie state Independents! And if the RNC is smart we’ll see that clip on an October spot next year that plays in all the Western and Middlewestern states. Like lemmings, these Bolshies.
Then there was Sunday, Oscar night, and the cheap shots at the president culminated in the inane ramblings of the, dressed like a colorblind homeless person, Hollywood race hustler Spike Lee.
It tops off Monday with our favorite zaftig airhead Meghan McCain, she of a once proud family reputation, defending Lee and describing Trump as “a reality show president.” She said this on that den of logic, objective fact, and sober analysis, “The View.”
As this is all par for the course for the Dems and about Hollywood, I’ll end with quoting from one of my favorite movies, “Tin Cup.” When challenger Roy McAvoy (a total Texas Republican. Or should be) berates slimy pro golfer David Simms about shooting par, Simms responds, “I’ll take 18 of them, all day long!”
Roy retorts, “Do it and I’ll own you.”
Let the Dems play for par in 2020 with the same tired script they lost with in 2016. Only this time, even more left wing and thus more unelectable. We’re shooting for the win and their pals in Hollywood who regularly alienate a good portion of voting America will help us.
Okay granted, Roy, after an eventual over-the-water amazing shot into the hole, does lose the U.S. Open. But, for the sake of a properly stylish closing metaphor, we’ll ignore that. Because just like Hollywood, we like happy endings.
