Crafting a book is more than a forty-hour a week job. When I’m not writing, I’m thinking about it. When I stare at my laptop, I’m reading, thinking, plotting, planning, out the next steps that a character will take. All the great writers have birthed books that are so effortless to read. It’s these writers who make others think this is easy. No. Reading a story is easy. Writing it in such a way that it becomes an effortless yet enticing read is a skill I hope to one day master. In college, my favorite courses were in psycholinguistics, semantics, and oral interpretation of literature. That should have clued me in on what I was created to be. Reading has always been a passion of mine. Writing is what fuels my passion now. I can’t imagine a world without words, nor can I imagine never writing another sentence in a story.
