It begins: Evacuations ordered as brush fire breaks out in Southern California * WorldNetDaily * by WND Staff

Officials Monday ordered residents to evacuate areas of Simi Valley, California, just miles from the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum, as a wildfire there grows to 180 acres, with zero percent containment.

The fast-moving brush fire, dubbed the Sandy Fire, threatens homes in the suburban town northwest of Los Angeles. The so-called fire season has just begun in Western states where a lack of snow and rain over the winter and spring heighten the threat.

Some reports indicate that buildings have been lost to the blaze.
