It was a big weekend for religious issues, as Francis I proved what a leftist idiot he is by funding caravans headed to our border and The New York Times, not to be outdone, decided to go full Goebbels.
You no doubt have heard about the paper’s recent publication of a cartoon that would make Julius Streicher blush with mortification. If by chance you have not, the image featured Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu (the paper was careful to use a classically anti-Semitic facial stereotype) as a Star of David-wearing dog leading a blind President Trump who has him on a leash.
Strangely, even when the U.S. has been engaged in combat with Islamic nations, The New York Times has never published a cartoon that showed a Moslem leader as a, say, pig. And no matter what manner of anti-Israeli bile they spew, Representatives Omar and Tlaib are always portrayed in the best light possible.
Gee, I wonder why?
Now it is no secret that the left went viciously anti-Israel back in the 50s, at places like the Bandung Conference. They got even more pissed when every time their Arab pals like Nasser tried to push the Israelis into the sea the plucky little country ended up with their troops on the outskirts of Cairo and Damascus.
In the past, U.S. Bolshies usually stopped just short of out and out Jew baiting. At least, until now.
Yes, the paper has apologized for the cartoon. Do you think an editor will be fired for it? Or will the Times simply chalk it up to bad form and go along their merry way, bashing Jews and Israel anytime either strays from the far-left territory graciously demarcated by the Times?
What do you think? Uh-huh.
Publications like the Times, and it is far from alone, conflate any conservative Jew with any Israeli. They see them both as a threat to be dealt with in print, to send a message to ignorant bigots everywhere: Go ahead and hate Israel. We’ve got your back. Thus as we mourn the death of a pious woman who was at prayer at Chabad of Poway synagogue in San Diego, the paper would do well to reflect if there is innocent blood upon its hands.
Jews and Israel know this kind of horror only too well. But they have survived and overcome larger enemies than the sniveling scribes at The New York Times and their capering, sometimes murderous acolytes. God willing, and He does, she will transcend them once again and into perpetuity.
