Kamala Harris Pays as Dems Isolated by Political Autism

The Democratic Party has become so disconnected to the rest of the country they may be said, by someone as horrible as I am, to be suffering from a severe bout of political autism. Case in point: Kamala Harris.

In another slightly less socialist lifetime, the comely Senatress was the San Francisco D.A. from 2004-2011. Even in Caracas-by-the-Bay bad guys are bad and the D.A.’s office tries to put some behind bars. This can get said miscreants quite peeved at the D.A. So logically, Harris carried a firearm to protect herself from possible attack. Normal, right?

Not to the left.

Try as the poor dear might to go hard Bolshie on every conceivable subject up to and including who is her favorite My Little Pony (all the actual commies like Pinkie Pie), that she once almost a decade ago owned a gun is now causing progs to disown her as if she had made the horrible lefty mistake of marrying a person not of her own gender. Oh, she did? Whoa, bad on you lass.

This insanity stems from the fact that Dems live in a DC/NYC/CA isolated bubble so detached from real America (yeah, I said it) as to be living in a world where standard political stimuli doesn’t affect them. Unless it is convention in their closed-off inner existence, it simply doesn’t register. Hence, my clumsy autism comparison.

It recalls what the leftist writer Susan Sontag said after Nixon’s 1972 landslide win in that year’s presidential election, “I don’t know how he won. Nobody I know voted for him.”

An unfortunate consequence of this is that it renders contrarians living inside the bubbles (we conservatives have ours too, though not as roped-off as those on the port side) trapped in enemy territory. So for cosmopolitan conservatives like me, or sensible liberals, those that remain of either, it can make for ideological wariness, lest you inadvertently (ok, in my case waaaay advertently) stir up a hornet’s nest.

But don’t think the left’s culturally and politically incestuous status renders them powerless. In their cozy orb lie the centers of finance, higher education, government, entertainment, and pop culture. Its influence is immense and sometimes dispositive. Add on the electoral votes of Texas, the true reason for the Dem stance on immigration, and it could render the rest of the country neutered in national affairs.

Other Dems aside from Harris will be hit from crazed left-wingers and will falter, victims of a party that is more concerned with finding heretics than converts. Let’s hope the internal feeding season takes them right on up to November 2020.
