OpsLens Deck of 52 Most Wanted Post 9/11 Frontline Leaders

In 2018, as a spin-off and salute to the original 2003 deck of 52 Most Wanted playing cards, let’s honor post 9/11 frontline leaders here at home. Once a week, for 52 weeks this year, OpsLens will post a card highlighting one of the 52 Most Wanted Post 9/11 Frontline Leaders. You’ll learn the top facts about their business or organization, as well as why they made the list, which comes down to impact, scalability, health, and unique value proposition.

I encourage you to look for these weekly updates, share the card with your network, and support or buy the products and services they offer. See the 52 Most Wanted Post 9/11 Frontline Leaders launch story here.

5 of Hearts | Catch a Lift Fund

If you ever need inspiration or a reality check that we must live a little more, try harder, be our best, then you need to take a few minutes of your day and read about U.S. Army Corporal Christopher Coffland. He was a force, and the story of his life—moreover, how he lived—will and should change how you take your next step in this world. Enlisting to serve his country in uniform at the age of 41, Chris made the ultimate sacrifice and was killed in action when his MRAP drove over an IED in Afghanistan on November 13, 2009.

His sister and closest friend, Lynn Coffland, made pain her purpose and founded the national nonprofit Catch a Lift Fund (CAL) in 2010. In memory of her brother, a fitness enthusiast, the CAL mission is rooted in his lifelong belief that through fitness, one can reach one’s highest potential both mentally and physically. And the proof in Chris’s belief lives on in how it changes the bodies, heals the minds, and saves the lives of wounded veterans. Since inception, CAL has helped thousands of post 9/11 combat-wounded veterans regain the mental and physical health through programs tailored to their needs, which includes gym memberships, in-home gym equipment, personalized fitness and nutrition programs, and a peer support network (watch this video to see how results have been unmistakable: dramatic weight loss, reduction in medications, improved sleep patterns, strengthened relationships with family and friends).

This charity has received numerous accolades and top ratings for its exemplary performance and for being a good steward of donated funds, in addition to partnering with several well-known national leaders in the space, such as the Bob Woodruff Foundation, DAV (Disabled American Veterans), and the Wounded Warrior Project. All veterans and civilians can find ways to participate and support this outstanding organization through the variety of programs offered, or simply by participating in Coffland’s HERO WOD (as an individual or by rallying a local gym).

The Catch a Lift Fund is a frontline leader that should be on your list of most-wanted charities to support in 2018.
