Moms Demand Action is Having a National ‘Wear Orange Day’ to End Gun Violence. Yes, Orange.

By: - June 2, 2017

“Orange has been known as a hunting color for many years.”

Moms Demand Action, or MDA, funded by Everytown.org is trying to set a national “wear orange” day to show unity to end gun violence, and shockingly believe their plans will accomplish something. Since I signed up to get their text messages (always good to be knowledgable of all sides) I had to respond to a request to be part of a wear orange day to show unity to end gun violence.

I received a text message from one of their bots asking me if I would be interested in participating in an event at one of my local parks. The event is scheduled for Friday, June 2nd, and asks those who are participating to wear orange to show “unity”. I had to chuckle at that when I saw it. You see I am not sure who picked the color for this unity drive, but I do not think they were very knowledgeable about firearms and especially hunting.

Orange is the color required by law for hunters to wear in many states. Orange has been known as a hunting color for many years.  So I have decided to take part in a peaceful counter-demonstration that day at the park. I plan on wearing my hunting orange gear and having a few informative signs out. Maybe one that says, “Who picked hunter orange as the color for anti-gun activists?”
