Organization Claims Evidence of Federal Inmate Detention Scheme, Plans Legal Action
A newly formed civil liberties group is taking on the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Bureau of Prisons (BOP), alleging a systematic effort to illegally detain thousands of federal inmates past their legal release dates. The Division of Civil Liberties (DOCL), an initiative of the On Your Six Foundation, will hold a demonstration at the U.S. Capitol on March 27, 2025, at 1:00 PM to publicly release evidence and announce legal action against those responsible.
DOCL co-founder Brian Mock, who says he uncovered the scheme while incarcerated, claims that the BOP and DOJ have been collaborating for years to extend prisoner detentions unlawfully.
“What will be released is proof that the BOP and DOJ have been collaborating for years to illegally keep people in jail past their release date,” Mock said. “They have deceived Congress and the American people, and President Trump must take action to fix this terrible miscarriage of justice.”
According to DOCL, the DOJ has knowingly violated the First Step Act—a law designed to reduce sentences and facilitate early releases—while profiting from prolonged incarcerations. The organization asserts that these actions undermine the rule of law and erode public trust in the justice system.
A New Civil Liberties Watchdog
According to their website, DOCL was founded to fight government corruption, protect civil rights, and expose judicial misconduct. Co-founders Brian Mock, Joshua Macias, and Adam Villarreal say their organization is not just about advocacy but about taking concrete legal action against those abusing their power.
“When presented with Brian’s story and the evidence he obtained, I knew that this was the most important issue that the new J6 advocacy team at DOCL had to address,” said Joshua Macias, a longtime activist. “This is not a partisan issue, it’s a humanitarian issue that we can all unite behind.”
As part of its mission, DOCL says they are utilizing cutting-edge technology to analyze legal cases and expose judicial and prosecutorial misconduct.

A Call to Action
With its March 27th demonstration, DOCL is urging the public to join its fight for justice, transparency, and constitutional rights. The group says it will continue to expose corruption and pursue legal remedies for those affected by DOJ and BOP misconduct.
