In 2018, as a spin-off and salute to the original 2003 deck of 52 Most Wanted playing cards, let’s honor post 9/11 frontline leaders here at home. Once a week, for 52 weeks this year, OpsLens will post a card highlighting one of the 52 Most Wanted Post 9/11 Frontline Leaders. You’ll learn the top facts about their business or organization, as well as why they made the list, which comes down to impact, scalability, health, and unique value proposition.

I encourage you to look for these weekly updates, share the card with your network, and support or buy the products and services they offer. See the 52 Most Wanted Post 9/11 Frontline Leaders launch story here.

6 of Spades| One More Wave

Have you heard of ocean therapy? I admit that I may have used this term lightheartedly as a reason to visit the beach, but seriously, take a minute to google “healing powers of nature,” and there’s more than one study with evidence to this point. In 2015, former U.S. Navy SEAL Alex West knew the benefits of being in the ocean all too well, and founded One More Wave. A certified 501(c)(3), this charity identified a need that no one in the country was addressing—provide adaptive surfing equipment that is customized and personalized for injured veterans, which leads to ocean therapy, and the larger mission of helping to decrease the veteran suicide rate. Just two years into operations, they were nominated by Starbucks in their award-winning 2017 Upstanders Series as one of 12 people impacting America through action and philanthropy. If you’d like to support their mission, here are a few different ways to help: donate money, donate time, tell someone else about this charity, and purchase their cool gear since all proceeds support the cause.

One More Wave is a frontline leader that should be on your list of most-wanted charities to support in 2018.
