Parents Against the Regime | Intellectual Takeout

Attorney General Merrick Garland recently set his sights on what the federal government considers one of the gravest threats to the political order: parents angry with the promotion of transgender ideology and critical race theory in public schools.

“In recent months, there has been a disturbing spike in harassment, intimidation, and threats of violence against school administrators, board members, teachers, and staff who participate in the vital work of running our nation’s public schools,” he wrote in a memo.

“While spirited debate about policy matters is protected under our Constitution,” he added, “that protection does not extend to threats of violence or efforts to intimidate individuals based on their views.” Garland thus announced the FBI’s mobilization against parents whose existence he considers “threats” to the regime.

Garland isn’t wrong. Parents are angry, and they should be. Beyond failing to educate, public schools have facilitated violence and intimidation against children and adults alike through their constant promotion of antiwhite ideology and policies of sexual depravity.

In the case of Loudon County, Virginia, school bureaucrats covered up two alleged sexual assaults by the same male student who is now in custody for sexual battery and abduction. In one incident, the assailant reportedly took advantage of the school district’s transgender policy to access a female restroom where he sexually assaulted Scott Smith’s ninth-grade daughter. Prosecutors charged the boy with two counts of forcible sodomy, one count of anal sodomy, and one count of forcible fellatio, Smith’s attorney told The Daily Wire.

When Smith mentioned the assault at a school board meeting, Superintendent Scott Ziegler denied any incidents involving a transgender student in school bathrooms and said that “the predator transgender student or person simply does not exist.” Smith exploded at the lie and was arrested for disorderly conduct.

More than 60 parents and students subsequently rallied to demand Ziegler’s resignation from the Loudoun County School Board. The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to the New York Post that they are handling two sexual assault cases that occurred on two different campuses within the district. Moreover, The Post noted that a district spokesperson said both incidents were immediately reported to the sheriff’s office, and they cooperated with the investigations.

Garland, then, has effectively deployed the FBI and the Department of Justice to run cover for everything from antiwhite racism to rapists belonging to a protected victim group. And why should that be a surprise? In the candid words of Terry McAuliffe, the Democratic candidate for governor of Virginia: “I don’t think parents should be telling schools what they should teach.” In other words, although they subsidize the system, parents should have no say in what goes on within the regime’s ideological incubation chambers.

The rape of little girls kept under wraps; the arrest of a 16-year-old female student for refusing to wear a mask on school grounds; teachers being instructed to actively discriminate against white children in the name of “racial equity”—these are eggs that must be broken to make the omelet in our coercive utopia. Children are mere clay in the hands of ideologues and fiends, whose misshapen sculpting must go undisturbed.

But Garland’s thugs can’t arrest every protesting parent, and even if they tried, it would only accelerate the delegitimization and destabilization of the regime they serve.

Middle Americans need to create networks that will enable them to agitate, developing their own equivalent of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, which was the principal arm for mobilizing large protests and training protestors during the civil rights era.

They will need to pool capital and resources to construct bail funds for themselves. They need something like the left’s Minnesota Freedom Fund, to which Vice President Kamala Harris donated, but for Middle Americans rather  than the murderers and pedophiles of whom progressives are so fond. Above all, Middle Americans should continue to agitate en masse, pound the walls, and shake the cage of the system.
