Two Vindman brothers, one of whom was a trigger point for one of Rep. Nancy Pelosi’s two failed impeach-and-remove campaigns against President Donald Trump, need to be investigated.
That’s according to the Pentagon, where General Counsel Early Matthews sent letters to the House Ethics Committee Chairman Michael Guest, R-Miss., as well as leaders of the House Armed Services and Oversight committees.
It’s because of their record of trying to make money on issues involving Ukraine, “as the brothers each worked with U.S. defense companies” involved with Ukraine.
It happened “at the same time as Eugene was also being funded by the State Department for Russian war crimes work in Ukraine,” according to a report at Just the News.
“They founded their company to perform services for the Ukrainian government in exchange for money and to represent American companies seeking to do business with the Ukrainian government for money,” Matthews explained in requesting an ethics review. “They were required to seek the pre-approval of the Secretary of the Army and the Secretary of State.”

The brothers are Rep. Eugene Vindman, D-Va., and his brother, retired Lt. Col Alexander Vindman.
It was Eugene who promoted in his “authorized biography” how his brother, Alexander, “listened in on President Donald Trump’s call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky” and then claimed Trump was trying to “extort Ukraine into investigation Joe Biden.”
The two pushed their ideology up the military ladder, resulting in Pelosi’s failure, as Trump was acquitted by the Senate. He then fired the brothers.
In fact, the Biden family’s interests in Ukraine run deep, and never have fully been explained. Then-First Son Hunter Biden was paid millions of dollars by a Ukrainian utility company to be on its board, and allegedly use his influence to have the U.S. pressure Ukrainian prosecutors to end a corruption investigation into the company.
Joe Biden later visited Ukraine, and came back to America and boasted he ordered Ukrainian officials to fire that prosecutor or lose American loan guarantees worth billions.
Just the News explained Mathews confirmed, “As retired U.S. Army officers, just as they could not become direct civil employees of the Ukrainian government without obtaining the prior approval of both the Secretary of the Army and the Secretary of State, they could also not lawfully provide ‘consulting’ or ‘defense services’ through their ‘consulting firm’ to the Ukrainian government without first obtaining the permission of the Secretary of the Army and the Secretary of State. If any U.S. military retiree could simply form a ‘consulting firm’ and immediately start providing services to a foreign government without the required Secretarial approvals, it would make a mockery of the law.”
The report said Eugene’s campaign website last year “specifically touted the fact that he had worked for the Atrocity Crimes Advisory Group (ACA) in Ukraine for a year and a half, and that he had done so as part of a ‘Department of State funded program.’ Eugene was described in interviews as having been the Director of Military Analysis and Prosecution Support for the ACA.”
Just the News confirmed, “During interviews with Ukrainian government-linked outlets and with local Virginia newspapers, the overlap between Eugene’s work for the State Department-backed ACA and his role in a so-called Trident Support business effort in Ukraine run by himself and his brother was apparent, as he discussed both efforts in both interviews.”
A “senior defense official” confirmed to Just the News that the brothers needed proper permission to do Ukraine-related work.
The report cited Matthews’ confirmation that “a preliminary review of Department of War records has found no indication” that either Vindman obtained that approval.
But the report said Eugene’s financial disclosures state he took more than $200,000 over two years from a group called Trident, which was involved in Ukraine plans and was a “consulting” firm founded for profit.
He responded to the letter by claiming, “Donald Trump and his lackeys are working overtime to weaponize the government against his political opponents.”
The letter accuses Eugene of “receiving an emolument from a foreign government.” If the accusation would be confirmed, he could be considered in violation of multiple federal laws.
Matthews said, “The Department of War has a clear and unmistakable interest in knowing whether Rep. Vindman received remuneration, directly or indirectly, from the government of Ukraine, before he assumed his current office. It is important that the Department of War understand what, if any, monies were paid by the Ukrainian government, directly or indirectly, individually or collectively, to Rep. Vindman, LTC (Ret.) Alexander Vindman, or to Trident Support LLC for services rendered or contemplated. This is so because the Department of War cannot recoup monies that are being concealed from it.”
Eugene Vindman has claimed, “I never took a dime from a Ukrainian citizen or government entity, directly or indirectly. I followed the law and properly complied with all relevant regulations.”
Alexander claimed what he heard on the telephone call between Trump and Zelenskyi was “improper.”
