President Donald Trump on Monday said he’s “really disappointed” with Jeanine Pirro, saying she “choked” and “folded like an umbrella” in her handling of vandalism charges at the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool.
His remarks come as a published report claims the commander in chief is considering replacing Pirro as U.S. attorney for Washington, D.C.
While answering questions in the Oval Office Monday, Trump expressed his disdain after Pirro filed a motion to dismiss her office’s July 2 second-degree felony indictment against three-time Olympian David Hearn for allegedly vandalizing the pool.
“Frankly, I think she choked,” Trump said, “because the judge was really vicious. Instead of going after the people that did it, the judge went after her and went after her department. And I guess she choked. I don’t know what the hell happened.”

“I was disappointed with Jeanine Pirro, really disappointed with Jeanine Pirro,” he added. “She folded like an umbrella, and people get away with things. It’s a disgrace.”

CNN reports Trump is considering replacing Pirro, saying: “The president is ‘furious’ with Pirro, one of the sources said, telling CNN that he fumed about her all weekend. They added that based on his criticisms of her, they find it ‘highly likely she’s removed from her job.’”
“The other source, a senior administration official, said Trump was ‘blindsided’ by Pirro’s court filing: ‘The president did not know beforehand that she was going to do that.’”
When asked by a reporter Monday, “Are you reconsidering her role?” Trump responded: “You’re fake news, don’t ever talk again. One of the worst in the business. Fortunately, nobody watches you.”
