‘She’s able to take the rocks and arrows’: Leftists erupt in rage over Tina Peters’ new gig * WorldNetDaily * by Bob Unruh

Tina Peters

Tina Peters, the former Mesa County, Colorado, clerk, was taken to court in her state for trying to preserve records from the 2020 presidential election. She was sent to prison, only to be released later when an appeals court ruled her sentence was based on her speech, which is illegal.

Now she’s in line to take on a new job, as an elections official, in Shasta County, California.

Leftists in that state are erupting in rage, demanding she be in prison, not in a government office.

In Colorado, leftist prosecutors lined up charges against her for apparently giving someone access to government records. Of course, the state’s Democrat secretary of state, Jena Griswold, did essentially the same thing, posting election systems passwords online, and was given a pass by prosecutors.

Peters, a Gold Star mother, became a favorite of Donald Trump who applied pressure to Colorado Gov. Jared Polis, whose all-Democrat state Supreme Court tried to take Trump off the 2024 ballot, and the governor effectuated Peters’ release after an appeals court ruled her prison term was unconstitutional.

Now a report at the Hill confirms Peters has been offered the role as assistant registrar of voters for Shasta County, in northern California.

“In an appearance on ‘The Northstate Breakdown,’ Clint Curtis, a Shasta County clerk and registrar of voters, stated that he planned to hire Peters to replace Brent Turner, his top deputy, who has been on medical leave,” the report said.

Curits said, “He [Turner] got sick on me. He’s on there until Sept. 4, at that point I have decided who I’m going to pull in for the assistant role. That will be Tina Peters.”

“She has experience … and she’s able to take the rocks and arrows,” Curtis continued.

Among those enraged was Gov. Gavin Newsom and Sen. Alex Padilla, a Democrat, immediately demanded she be fired.

The Hill said, “Prosecutors in the Peters case said she brought in a person to make a copy of the county’s voter systems, with the aim of exposing alleged fraud. Peters later claimed that she was trying to preserve election records in case Trump’s claim of widespread voter fraud was proven valid.”

Griswold, meanwhile, had posted a long list of state election system passwords online, and left them there for weeks until Republicans noticed and called her out. She never was punished.

Peters had been sentenced to nine years in prison, but an appeals court ruled the trial court judge unconstitutionally punished her for her statements, and the sentence was tossed out. Polis then facilitated her release before any resentencing was planned.

Polis commuted her term after confirming the judge “held her speech against her.”

Padilla even went to social media to rant about his demands.

Peters, meanwhile, has returned to trying to secure America’s elections:

A report at the Denver Post, which reflects Colorado’s extreme leftism in politics, reported that a Trump assistant had earlier summoned officials from several federal agencies to discuss various events.

“The purpose of this call is to prioritize Colorado for the purposes of ensuring grants and federal support are in line with administration priorities,” explained a deputy assistant to the president to the departments of energy, transportation, interior and agriculture, as well as the Office of Management and Budget.

Colorado now is suing, claiming retaliation by the Trump administration for officials’ persecution of Peters.

The Post claimed a “senior state attorney” characterized the email as a “smoking gun” in its case.

In fact, Trump was open in his derogation of Colorado and Polis for their handling of the Peters case and ultimately hundreds of millions of dollars in funding were removed from Colorado.

Given the email, U.S. District Judge R. Brooke Jackson claimed it “makes no sense in our democracy.”

Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser said the situation was “shocking” and it proved the White House conducted a scheme to weaponize the government to punish Colorado “for its lawful decisions over elections and our criminal justice system.”

He left aside the fact that the judiciary in the state actually ruled the punishment for Peters was, in fact, unconstitutional. Weiser’s agenda has been literally to sue Trump for anything, having participated in some 80 legal actions against the president.

The case has created huge impacts in Colorado, where Polis fired two members of the clemency board who opposed its handling of the Peters case.

The 2020 election circumstances included that Trump was leading Joe Biden in multiple states and they all “stopped” counting votes for the night, then resumed the next day to count literally boxes and boxes of ballots – virtually all for Joe Biden.

Further undue influences in that vote were Mark Zuckerberg’s handout of some $400 million to local election officials who often used the cash windfall to recruit voters in Democrat districts, as well as the FBI’s decision to interfere by falsely describing details about Biden family scandals found in a laptop abandoned by Hunter Biden as Russian disinformation.

Peters’ sentence also stood our for its harshness, as one of Polis’ friends had been convicted of similarly trying to interfere with an election and was given probation.

WorldNetDaily reported earlier on Trump’s opinion of Polis, regarding the Peters case.

He had said, before the governor’s change of heart, Polis can “rot in Hell.”

On social media, Trump posted, “God Bless Tina Peters, who is now, for two years out of nine, sitting in a Colorado Maximum Security Prison, at the age of 73, and sick, for the ‘crime’ of trying to stop the massive voter fraud that goes on in her State (where people are leaving in record numbers!). Hard to wish her a Happy New Year, but to the Scumbag Governor, and the disgusting ‘Republican’ (RINO!) DA, who did this to her (nothing happens to the Dems and their phony Mail In Ballot System that makes it impossible for a Republican to win an otherwise very winnable State!). I wish them only the worst. May they rot in Hell. FREE TINA PETERS!”

Trump earlier announced on social media:

“For years, Democrats ignored Violent and Vicious Crime of all shapes, sizes, colors, and types. Violent Criminals who should have been locked up were allowed to attack again. Democrats were also far too happy to let in the worst from the worst countries so they could rip off American Taxpayers. Democrats only think there is one crime – Not voting for them! Instead of protecting Americans and their Tax Dollars, Democrats chose instead to prosecute anyone they can find that wanted Safe and Secure Elections. Democrats have been relentless in their targeting of TINA PETERS, a Patriot who simply wanted to make sure that our Elections were Fair and Honest Tina is sitting in a Colorado prison for the “crime” of demanding Honest Elections. Today I am granting Tina a full Pardon for her attempts to expose Voter Fraud in the Rigged 2020 Presidential Election!”

Colorado officials then bragged that Trump’s pardon had no impact on state charges against Peters.
