Study: Half of Oregon’s Detained Illegals Guilty of Sex Crimes

Researcher finds many criminal aliens arrested in northwest state committed similar offenses

By Edmund Kozak; LifeZette:

A new report has revealed that roughly half — 47.57 percent — of all of the illegal aliens currently in custody in Oregon are guilty of sex crimes.

Illegal immigration and crime researcher David Olen Cross examined data provided by the Oregon Department of Corrections and found that on May 1, 2017, 969 foreign nationals were in the state’s prison system, with 461 of them incarcerated for one of three types of sex crimes: sexual abuse, rape, or sodomy.

Nearly 200 of the aliens, 197, were arrested for sexual abuse. Nearly as many, 170, were arrested for rape and 94 were arrested for sodomy. Of the 461 illegal-alien sex criminals currently incarcerated in Oregon, 384 — 83 percent — are Mexican.

“The reason … regaining control of our borders is so important is that when an illegal alien enters the country, we have absolutely no idea if they have a criminal background or why it is that they’re coming in the first place,” Dave Ray, director of communications for the Federation for American Immigration Reform, told LifeZette. “Clearly, more than a few illegal immigrants are coming to the U.S. for the wrong reasons, and unfortunately, innocent Americans are paying the price.”

Last month it was reported that ICE set free nearly 600 illegal alien criminals guilty of sex crimes in the fiscal year 2015 because their home countries would not take them back.

In March 2017 alone there have been numerous reported incidents of sex crimes committed by illegal immigrants.

Salvadoran national Tommy Vladim Alvarado-Ventura was arrested in Long Island after sexually assaulting a 2-year-old girl and stabbing two woman. Two illegal-alien high school students in Maryland were accused of raping a classmate, and Guatemalan national Douglas Hus-Flores was arrested in Connecticut after sexually assaulting a 3-year-old girl.

Also in March, Mexican Jorge Zapata-Rosas was arrested in Texas for the rape of a 7-year-old-girl. Illegal alien Kevin Cisneros was arrested by U.S. marshals in New Jersey for the sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl. And Border Patrol agents arrested at least three convicted illegal alien sex offenders trying to re-enter at the U.S. border.

And in this first two months of this year, North Carolinians for Immigration Reform and Enforcement (NCFIRE), which tracks sex crimes committed by illegal aliens in the Tar Heel state, identified 40 illegal aliens charged with over 85 sexual offenses in that state alone.

The 2015 NYPD “Crime and Enforcement Activity in New York City” report revealed that despite Hispanics’ accounting for roughly 29 percent of the city’s population (according to the Census Bureau’s 2014 American Community Survey), the demographic accounted for 41 percent of misdemeanor sex-crime arrests, 42.6 percent of rape arrests, and nearly half — 47.3 percent — of all other felonious sex crime arrests.

“One of the worst things about violent crimes and sex offenses committed by illegal immigrants is that they are completely preventable,” said Ray. Unfortunately, he said, “the issue of the immigration status of suspected or convicted criminals is often ignored because of a strong bias on behalf of reporters and news outlets to portray illegal immigrants in a positive light.”
