The Pentagon should be allowed to ban transgenders in America’s military ranks, according to a request from the Donald Trump administration.
Officials have asked the Supreme Court to let the military enforce a ban, moving the issue before the high court for a second time, according to a report at the Hill.
The request seeks for a reversal of a lower court’s decision that said the administration could not use the ban to remove transgender members already in.
“Solicitor John D. Sauer argued that was a ‘gravely erroneous holding,’ writing the authority of the U.S. military to determine who can serve in the armed forces is a ‘matter of exceptional importance,’” the report said.

He continued, “Whether the Constitution prohibits the military from exercising that authority by adopting a policy like the one here is a recurring issue, which has arisen before and will likely arise again absent this Court’s review.”
President Trump took action by executive order during his second term in the White House, deciding that those troops, since they threaten readiness and undermine unit cohesion, should not be allowed.
Transgender agenda-supporting Democrats immediately criticized him. They claimed the individuals’ rights were violated.
Since then, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth has pursued the agenda, and the report noted many transgender members voluntarily have departed.
He’s cited Trump’s orders against DEI, “diversity, equity, inclusion,” in saying that “means no more trannies, just training.”
A divided panel on an appeals court, located in the leftist enclave around Washington, said the rules did violate the rights of transgenders.
The ruling banned the Pentagon from removing those in the service, but did not protect those seeking to enlist.
A trial in the dispute is looming, but the Supreme Court meanwhile has allowed the administration to move forward.
