A new Newsweek poll is being mocked online because it was sponsored by a group called “Impeach Trump Again,” and it concluded that Americans want to impeach Trump again.

“The liberal media is truly beyond parody,” charged a commentary that the Gateway Pundit.

“The once great magazine ‘Newsweek’ recently published a story about a poll that clearly made it sound like a majority of Americans want Trump to be impeached again, yet if you actually read the story, it is almost immediately clear that the story and the poll are completely bogus. The article even admits that one of the two groups behind the poll is called ‘Impeach Trump Again.’

“They sound objective, don’t they? You couldn’t make this up.”

The story said 52% of registered voters back impeachment compared to 40% opposed, according to the survey of 790 voters commissioned by two groups opposing his Iran war and other policies. The finding includes one in seven Republicans supporting removal proceedings.

The mockery didn’t take long to appear with the comments:

“We surveyed 790 Democrats from a Democratic pollster firm and blah blah blah…”

“This is classic advocacy polling sponsored by a group literally named ‘Impeach Trump Again.’ And run by a progressive pollster.”

“This is a push poll-style survey comissionered and funded by explicitly anti-Trump orogressive organijzations actively campaigning for impeachment…”

“Give me a break with these ridiculous polls. The survey’s two sponsors were Impeach Trump. Again. And Freed Speech for People, two progressive advocacy groups….”
