The impact from Hurricane Florence is long from over. As the wind and rain settles down, there is now all the devastating damage the survivors must rebuild.
Cities throughout the Carolinas have received up to 35 inches of rain from Florence with several neighborhoods experiencing severe flooding. There have been over 2,000 swift water rescues made for families trapped from the flooding.
There have been 32 reported deaths related to the storm. This includes a 3-month-old and an 81-year-old man.
About 511,000 homes are left without electricity with a majority being in North Carolina.
Residents who were effected by the storm still have a long way to go before things can really be back to normal.
