In case you missed it way back in 2012, the Obama administration went on a full attack against the sanctity of the American voting process…and the attacks continue today. The preferred method of attack? An unprecedented number of lawsuits that were specifically aimed at attacking state voter identification laws. Their excuse for filing? Protecting minorities, the “disenfranchised” (read: the poor), and the elderly.
Therein lies the problem, folks. When you attack the laws protecting the sanctity of our voting process, the entire system becomes weak or (as they would have it) collapses. It is anarchy that allows the ballot boxes to be stuffed and manipulated.
You see, the Constitution leaves it to the states to determine the qualifications for state voting, but a federal law (Title 18 USC section 611) passed in 1996 makes it a crime for non-citizens to vote in federal elections. The easiest way to attack the system is to attack it at the state level.
This has been going on for years—we have been losing the battle. In fact, Boston officials are considering granting the right to vote in municipal elections to non-U.S. residents as reported by ABC affiliate WCVB.
Boston immigrants account for 28.5 percent of the city’s population—about 190,000—according to a survey taken in 2015 by the U.S. Census Bureau. They paid about $116 million in state and local taxes in 2015 and spent about $3.4 billion, per a “Boston by the Numbers” report from that same year. So of course they are going to cater to this large “voting bloc.” Because it is enough to swing any vote. It’s how the Muslims have taken over entire cities, so why not use what works, right?
“The purpose of our local government, including the Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Advancement, is to ‘strengthen the ability of diverse, cultural, and linguistic communities to play an active role in the economic, civic, social and cultural life of the City of Boston,” reads an order requested by Andrea Campbell, the City Council president, earlier in January of this year.
Are you kidding me? This is pure madness.
This unmitigated rush to grant voting rights to non-citizens is indicative of a powerplay by the left and is also indicative of a country which has failed to protect its borders or its identity.
In a groundbreaking study of nearly 30,000 people across the country, Harvard political scientist Robert Putnam, author of “Bowling Alone,” has shown some of the extraordinarily negative effects resulting from “diversity.”
“[T]he greater the diversity in a community, the fewer people vote and the less they volunteer, the less they give to charity and work on community projects. In the most diverse communities, neighbors trust one another about half as much as they do in the most homogeneous settings. The study, the largest ever on civic engagement in America, found that virtually all measures of civic health are lower in more diverse settings,” wrote Michael Jonas in 2007, in a Boston.com piece on diversity.
History is resplendent with a multitude of countries that were destroyed in the name of “diversity.” But of course, you will never hear any of this from the liberal media. Not just Boston but the whole of the United States will turn into nothing but a tower of Babel—just one more failed nation.
The practice of promoting diversity and granting voting rights to individuals who will not assimilate into our culture and language will be the downfall of our country. Consider how during the great immigration years of the 19th century, immigrants worked hard to assimilate into our culture and were proud to be “Americans.”
Bottom line: A country that does not espouse the same moralistic values, the same culture, and the same language will not be a country nor a nation united. It will be divided by language, divided by culture, and divided by morals—a house divided cannot stand.
