We are less than a week into the celebration of “Liberation Day” with tariffs being implemented from the Trump administration, and just days into the new vision of foreign policy more than 50 nations have already reached out to renegotiate trade deals with America.
Winning.
This move should be a reminder that 1) we have had horrible leaders for a very long time that have allowed us to be in such a trade deficit, and 2) we have become accustomed to just being walked on all over by the world.
The wild part about the entire conversation is how many people are angry about balancing out our foreign relationships.
That to me, is the biggest story.
I can see why the deep state politicians wouldn’t want to see Trump succeed. Of course they do not want the Trump administration to expose how ineffective their policies have been for so long. Of course they want to keep DC as the “some old same old” without trying new ideas or visions. And of course they would turn a blind eye to other nations taking advantage of us, while we’re too scared to stand up for ourselves. That’s not what confuses me.
What I don’t understand are the voters that buy into the propaganda. The same side of “progressives” that say they fight for small business and despise “evil corporations”, are the same ones that want to continue allowing corporations to leave the country and utilize cheap labor overseas.
The same group of advocates that fight for unions, better wages, better benefits, and “sticking it to the top 1%” are now angry about upsetting the system benefitting the top 1%.
It’s very strange.
To me it shows either they don’t understand what they are arguing for (which makes total sense), or we are seeing a cultural shift in ideology.
Is the Republican party now becoming the party of small business, the worker, and even labor unions? Are we the ones now pushing back against globalism, outsourcing, corporations taking advantage of the workers, and focusing on the “little guy”? Conservatism has always been about everyone, and the opportunity for ALL to succeed. Both big and little.
But this shift could be the final nail in the coffin of a Democrat party screaming about the evil “millionaires and billionaires”, while they continue to support the millionaires and billionaires telling them what to think.
It’s time to get ready for America to come back with both big and small business and the start of the new Golden Age of America.
