Capitalism is what allowed the creation of Microsoft, which employs hundreds of thousands of people in America. And other companies, like Tesla, Space X and other ventures by trillionaire Elon Musk, whose corporations also provide hundreds of thousands of jobs for people in America.
But Democrats actually don’t like that: They prefer, by a significant margin, a socialist America, where the ownership of the means of production could be confiscated from those who created it.
Under socialism, in its form as refined by Karl Marx, people are given, by the government, what they “need,” and it is the government that decides on those “needs.”
It has failed over and over in situations where such a dictatorship actually has been imposed.
But that is what Democrats across America, more and more, are demanding.
Law professor Jonathan Turley, whose advice to Congress on constitutional issues actually has guided those decisions at times, posted a warning in a column that he’s written extensively on the “age of rage” that exists in American politics now.
“The most worrisome elements of this period are fundamental changes being demanded to our constitutional and economic systems. A new poll by The Economist/YouGov is consistent with other polls showing rising support among Democrats for socialism. More Democrats (38%) prefer socialism to capitalism (25%). Other polls show 60% had a favorable view of socialism and only 32% had favorable views of capitalism,” he wrote.
Republicans by a 79%-5% margin, favor capitalism.
He said that’s how American succeeded.
“The success of this Republic was a mix of Enlightenment and free-market principles. It was the combination of economic and political liberty that produced the most successful republic in history. …The Founders knew that true individual liberty could not be achieved without economic freedom.”
He wrote, “I believe the key to our surviving and thriving in the 21st Century will be preserving what I call a ‘liberty-enhancing economy.’”

🚨SOCIALIST CHIC: Almost Half of Americans Now Hold Positive Views of Socialism Jonathan Turley: “Karl Marx believed that ‘Democracy is the road to socialism.’ Socialists seem to have found a generation of dupes to buy their ahistorical, fanciful pitch. A new poll shows 43% now have a positive view of socialism. An astonishing 65% of Democrats have a positive view. Socialism is now the rage on the left.” “Like clothing styles, if you wait long enough, socialism tends to come back into style with generations with no memory of past failures. However, it is an astonishing trend in one of the most prosperous nations on Earth that outlasted a history cluttered with the broken failures of socialist and communist systems.” “A new slick packaging of socialism has emerged with leaders such as Zohran Mamdani offering to teach people of the ‘warmth of collectivism.’ The Democratic Socialists of America are enticing voters with narratives like ‘Imagine the end of capitalism.’ Those words promise voters that there is a brave new world without landlords, debt, mandatory work hours, and ‘food, education, energy, medicine, and transportation… are common goods and utilities.’” “What is incredible is that many are buying this pitch.”… More: https://t.co/A3WI2DOzdX

He cited the warning that is coming from candidates like Texas Senate candidate James Talarico, who “appeared intent on bringing a touch of Trotsky to Texas.”
“In a video from a climate forum, Talarico is shown declaring capitalism an ‘oppressive system’ linked with white supremacy and that it must be ‘dismantled’ to achieve a better world. It is reminiscent of Leon Trotsky, who denounced the ‘fundamental evil of the capitalist system’ and called on citizens to free themselves from its oppression.”
He cited the fact that California Gov. Gavin Newsom joined in the agenda, insisting that “capitalism as we know it doesn’t work either,” and explaining the Democrat Socialists in his party are its future.
“The Framers understood that political rights mean little without economic freedom. Capitalism offered citizens the ability to transcend class and social barriers, to advance as far as their skills and labor would take them,” Turley said. “Together, those political and economic theories created the most prosperous and stable democratic system in the world. That system is now under attack …”
The idea actually isn’t new in America, having been “tried” at a commune on Long Island called Modern Times, which lasted only 10 years before collapsing.
