The United States pummeled strategic locations throughout Mosul this week as Iraqi forces press in on ISIS’ last major stronghold in Iraq. The number of airstrikes in recent days has topped the total for all strikes against the terror group in the previous two years combined, demonstrating the significance of the battle for Mosul, and the volume of ISIS fighters and infrastructure in and around the city.
