More documents must be released about the Biden family’s activities.
That’s according to U.S. Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, who is insisting the Department of Justice and the Director of National Intelligence open up for examination a “trove” of documents that apparently were “misclassified.”
That allegedly was done to “downgrade” alleged wrongdoing by former President Joe Biden’s family, a New York Post report charges.
It describes a letter this week from Grassley and Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., that said records obtained by Grassley’s office showed the FBI “misclassified information” to obstruct congressional inquiries into Operation Round River.
That was an FBI operation that compiled derogatory information on Joe and Hunter Biden in the lead-up to the 2020 election.
“To date, the available records cause serious concerns about how federal law enforcement and the Intelligence Community used its resources to downgrade allegations of criminality relating to the Biden family apparently without sufficient investigation,” the senators told Attorney General Todd Blanche, FBI Director Kash Patel and Director of National Intelligence Jay Clayton.
They charged, “The records also cause concern about how federal records were stored and managed.”
The report explained the letter cited an email from a FBI supervisory special agent that mentioned “classification caveats” requested by the agency’s Office of General Counsel “based on past experience with Crossfire Hurricane.”
That was the investigation, based on known lies, into whether the 2016 Trump campaign illegally colluded with Russian officials. That year’s failed Democrat nominee, Hillary Clinton, reportedly had informed federal officials of plans to falsely tie Trump to Russia in an attempt to divert the public’s attention from her own scandal, her decision to put government secrets on an unsecure computer server in her own home.
Under former Director Christopher Wray, the FBI apparently “intentionally misclassified information a certain way which would result in more obstacles to obtaining access, whether it be Congress or the American people who sought it,” the letter charged.
The report explained that there apparently was a “clearinghouse” for allegations about the Bidens, including information that may have referenced “criminal” actions.
That information then allegedly was then discredited as foreign disinformation likely originating from Russia.

FBI may have ‘misclassified’ Biden investigation documents to keep evidence of family’s crimes a secret, Grassley claims https://t.co/8YBSEIzkgc pic.twitter.com/k2Npfnzhcv

In fact, at the time that a laptop computer that Hunter Biden had abandoned at a repair shop was revealed to have documentation of a wide range of Biden family scandals, the FBI claimed it was disinformation, even though agents knew at the time it was true.
“Grassley noted in Monday’s letter that he has been investigating Round River since July 2022 and much of the information he’s received has been found ‘parked away in a hidden classified compartment,’” the report said.
Just days ago the White House Government Transparency Task Force released some Round River documents showing the FBI was seeking to “red flag” information from confidential informants about Biden family “corruption and other Ukraine-related topics.”
A report posted by WorldNetDaily months ago said how Joe Biden, vice president in 2015 and in charge of Ukraine policy for Barack Obama, told the CIA he would “strongly prefer” that an intel report confirming Ukrainian concerns about his family’s ties to “corrupt” business operations there “not be disseminated.”
And it wasn’t.
A report published at Fox News at the time explained that comes from newly declassified emails and records.
The information was declassified by CIA chief John Ratcliffe, who said the details suggest there was a “politicization of intelligence.”
The report at the time explained a senior CIA official briefed Fox News Digital on the details, “stating that the intelligence was discovered along with an email showing that Biden ‘expressed a preference to not share the report.’”
The email said, “Good morning, I just spoke with VP/NSA and he would strongly prefer the report not/not be disseminated. Thanks for understanding.”
The signer’s name was redacted but held the title of “PDB Briefer,” for “presidential daily brief.”
The email was from Feb. 10, 2016, with the subject line: “RE: OVP query regarding draft [REDACTED].”
Fox confirmed, “The report in question included intelligence revealing that Ukrainian officials viewed the Biden family’s alleged ties to corrupt business practices in Ukraine ‘as evidence of a double-standard within the United States Government towards matters of corruption and political power.’”
In fact, at the time Joe Biden was in charge of Obama’s Ukraine policy, son Hunter Biden was being paid about a million dollars a year to be on the board of Burisma, an allegedly corrupt company being targeted by investigators.
Joe Biden used the threat of withholding American financial help to force Ukrainians to fire the prosecutor investigating Burisma.

The report never was shared based on the “preference” from the office of the vice president.
“The senior CIA official told Fox News Digital that it was ‘extremely rare and unusual’ and ‘inappropriate to go outside of the intelligence community and inquire with the White House on the dissemination of a particular report for what appears to be political reasons,’” the report said.
Fox’s report continued, “The intelligence document stated that ‘officials within the administration of Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko expressed bewilderment and disappointment at the 7-8 December 2015 visit of the Vice President of the United States to Kiev, Ukraine. These officials highlighted that, prior to the visit, the Poroshenko administration and other [REDACTED] Ukrainian officials expected the U.S. Vice President to discuss personnel matters with Poroshenko during the visit, and had assumed that the U.S. Vice President would advocate in support of or against specific officials within the Ukrainian Government,’ the intelligence states. After the visit, these officials assessed that the U.S. Vice President had come to Kiev almost exclusively to give a generic public speech, and had not had any intention of discussing substantive matters with Poroshenko or other officials within the Ukrainian government.’”
The intelligence document specified, “Following the visit of the U.S. Vice President, [REDACTED] officials within the Poroshenko administration privately mused at the U.S. media scrutiny of the alleged ties of the U.S. Vice President’s family to corrupt business practices in Ukraine. These officials viewed the alleged ties of the U.S. Vice President’s family to corruption in Ukraine as evidence of a double-standard within the United States Government towards matters of corruption and political power.”
It was Ukrainian prosecutor Viktor Shokin who was investigating Ukrainian natural gas firm Burisma Holdings, and it was Shokin who was fired after Biden’s pressure on Ukrainian officials.
Biden threatened to withhold $1 billion in aid: “I said, ‘You’re not getting the billion.’ … I looked at them and said, ‘I’m leaving in six hours. If the prosecutor is not fired, you’re not getting the money,’” Joe Biden confirmed.
It was then that Grassley released declassified files that suggest additional bribery allegations against Joe Biden and his scandal-plagued son, Hunter.
The files recorded two interviews in 2019 and 2017 with confidential FBI informants who shared details about the Biden family being linked to a possible foreign bribery “scheme” with the owner of the Ukrainian energy company Burisma Holdings, Mykola Zlochevsky.

A report then at the New York Post explained the documents released by Grassley memorialize two interviews, from 2017 and 2019, in which FBI sources provided details about the Bidens being linked to “a possible foreign bribery ‘scheme’ with Mykola Zlochevsky, the owner of Ukrainian energy company Burisma Holdings.”
