Banned From Running For Office, Putin Nemesis Fights For ‘Pyrrhic Victory’

Supporters of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny want voters to boycott the upcoming election. Navalny says it’s a rigged reappointment of Vladimir Putin, whom he calls an ‘autocratic Tsar.’

The 41-year-old lawyer’s protests and corruption exposes have irked the Kremlin. He’s been barred from the contest over what he says is a trumped up suspended prison sentence.

His new strategy is long-term political siege of Putin–a man most Russians consider invincible. One supporter said, “Putin will get a formal victory, but we want to make it a pyrrhic victory.”
