Former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani has announced that he has officially joined President Trump’s legal team that is taking on the Russia investigation. Giuliani is an avid supporter of President Trump and joined him on the campaign trail, where he often opened for the president during his rallies. He went on to join President Trump’s transition team. Giuliani will focus primarily on interacting with Robert Mueller, the head of the special counsel investigating whether there was Russian collusion in the 2016 Presidential Election. President Trump frequently refers to the investigation as a witch hunt and has continuously asserted there was no collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia. Rudy Giuliani has taken a leave of absence from his law firm for an unspecified amount of time in order to focus on representing the president and working with other members of the legal team.
