A police officer was injured at the Bishop International Airport in Flint, Michigan, after he was attacked and stabbed in the neck. The suspect was taken into custody at the airport, which was evacuated and shut down.

In a released statement, the FBI said the attack is being investigated as an act of terror and is believed to be an isolated incident, posing no threat to the community. The police officer–identified as Lt. Jeff Neville–was initially listed as being in critical condition, but has since been upgraded to stable condition.

Immediately following the attack, police officers were stationed around City Hall, which is only a few miles from the airport, as an added precaution. Bishop International Airport posted a statement on their Facebook page assuring the public that no passengers were injured. The attack happened in the public area of the airport; the suspect did not go through security with the knife.
