According to Reuters, US President Donald Trump will meet with video-game industry executives on Thursday to discuss what the president believes is a link between games and violence.
Last month, in the wake of the deadly school shooting in Parkland, Florida that killed 17 people and injured dozens more, Trump said, “I’m hearing more and more people say the level of violence on video games is really shaping young people’s thoughts.”
Reuters reports that the Thursday’s meeting will be the first of several and is scheduled to include an industry trade group, conservative activists and members of Congress.
White House spokeswoman Lindsay Walters said that the purpose of the meeting will be “to discuss violent video-game exposure and the correlation to aggression and desensitization in children.”
