Some former intelligence officials have accused President Trump of endangering the US because he is vulnerable to being “played” by Russia, after the president said on Saturday he believed Vladimir Putin’s denials of Russian interference in the 2016 election.
But what if the president himself is the one who is doing the playing? Time will tell, but does it warrant consideration that the president is utilizing a philosophy of keeping his enemies closer than his friends? Russia certainly has ill intentions towards the West in the long run, and perhaps we have a president who has found the right tone to keep their intentions from becoming actions.
