Jaime West, the Democrat county council hopeful in Fayette County, Indiana, who became a national sensation last week for appearing intoxicated during a televised forum, is now breaking her silence on what she drank before the interview.
Appearing Monday on “Piers Morgan Uncensored,” West claimed she was “not that intoxicated” when she gave a bizarre and slurred monologue during the Oct. 9 discussion.
Morgan asked: “A lot of people assumed you might have had a drink before you did that interview. Did you?”
West fessed up, saying: “I had a Coors Light. I had a beer.”
“One beer?” Morgan wondered aloud.
“Maybe a couple” replied West.
Not satisfied with her answer, Morgan pressed for the truth: “How many beers did you have?”
West shouted: “I was nervous, OK! I was going into a room full of Republicans!”
Morgan noted: “We’ve all had a drink when we’re nervous. But just to be clear, Jamie, here’s your chance to be completely honest and transparent. How many beers did you have?”
West admitted: “All right. Three. Three beers.”
Morgan said: “Three beers. OK, well it’s trebled in the last 30 seconds.”
The Democrat fired back: “What do you want me to say, man?! I had three beers, OK?!
Morgan asked: “So do you accept you may have been a little intoxicated?”
“Not that intoxicated,” West replied, “but I do know what I’m talking about if it’s Indiana politics.”

When Morgan asked if West had consumed any beers before his interview with her, she said no, claiming she was completely sober.
She also declined to retract her derogatory remarks against MAGA Republicans from the candidate forum.
“I say it all the time – I’m not friends with [Republicans]. I don’t like them. They voted for all of this that’s happening to our country,” West said. “We have a constitutional crisis. We have an illegal war going on. … I have every right to be angry and so does every American.”
Some online commenters noted: “She sounds drunk while explaining why she was drunk!”
“35 years as an ER nurse taught me one thing: When someone says they’ve had three beers, multiply by three. At least.”
“He didn’t ask how many shots she had. She strikes me as a shot and a beer every round kinda girl.”
“She’s my forever hero. Goes on a show to explain why she was drunk on a previous show, and she’s hammered again. Viva la Jaime!”
As WorldNetDaily reported, West was questioned during the forum by Amy McCarty, managing editor of the Connersville News-Examiner on LocalTV3, and the interview quickly devolved into anti-MAGA madness.
McCarty asked West, “If elected, what is one decision that you expect to make that may be unpopular with some voters but you believe ultimately would be in the best interest of Fayette County?”
Asking for the question to be reposed, the Democrat finally responded: “Firing all Republicans. I wouldn’t let them, I mean, I don’t even talk to them. I don’t like them.”
“What do you want me to say?” West continued. “I don’t like being around them. I mean, y’all did this to us. You all voted for us. You made this happen, this ICE coming into our communities, stealing people’s jobs.”
“I’ve been threatened so many times to my face by MAGA, we’ll call them, she added.
“Because there’s Republicans who actually get it. You know, there are good Republicans out there, but then there’s these MAGAs who are just racist and aren’t very intelligent at all. They call you names. The sheriff’s nephew threatened to blow my head off, but you know what are you gonna do?”
West is strongly opposed to data centers, but said if they were to be built, “They’d have to pay every resident here at least $10,000 a year.”
When McCarty gave West “an opportunity to say just a few last words to the voters,” West glared into the camera to declare: “We have guns too!”
