What happens when America’s justice system becomes a weapon against political opponents, and the lawyers willing to defend them become targets themselves?
Former senior Justice Department official Jeff Clark knows the consequences firsthand. After challenging the 2020 election, he faced an FBI raid, the collapse of his lucrative legal career and an ongoing battle to keep his law license.
In a revealing conversation with Elizabeth Farah, Clark exposes what she calls the lawfare industrial complex, a network of attorneys, activist organizations and wealthy donors that he says uses the courts to intimidate, bankrupt and silence its opponents.
Clark warns that an even more dangerous tactic, “barfare,” targets the lawyers themselves, threatening to leave Americans without anyone willing to defend them.
“Once you have a one-party dictatorship, the one thing history teaches us over the last 100 years is that the streets run with blood.”
Now Clark is fighting back. With the launch of the Oversight Project Law Firm, backed by philanthropist Tom Klingenstein, he’s building a legal operation to defend those targeted by political litigation and challenge the attorneys and officials he believes are abusing the system.
He discusses the alleged $183 million lawfare network, a military officer facing a $43 million defamation lawsuit, the persecution he says John Eastman has endured, and why defending the Constitution may require taking the legal fight directly to those responsible.
“We have pledged not just to play defense, but also to go on offense.”
Clark believes the stakes extend far beyond individual lawsuits, threatening the independence of the legal profession and the foundations of American justice itself.
