Former Fox News anchor and one-time pro-Trump champion Tucker Carlson is now saying the president should be removed from office “immediately” if he is considering using nuclear weapons first.
“The second any president actively considers first use of nuclear weapons, that person should be removed from office immediately, because that’s got to be the red line, destroying all of humanity with a nuclear strike,” Carlson said during his Friday podcast titled, “LEAKED: Pentagon Nuclear Plans Prove the U.S. Is Out of Options,” with a chapter called, “Should Trump Be Impeached?”

“Why isn’t there an attempt to remove him from office, like, immediately?” Carlson said. “Anyone who would even tolerate that kind of talk from any of his subordinates or employees is by definition unfit. That’s the total destruction of the world.”
Carlson was talking on his podcast with Joe Kent, former director of the National Counterterrorism Center who resigned earlier this year due to his opposition to conflict with Iran.
Carlson, who announced in June he left the Republican Party, stressed he was “strongly opposed” to the two impeachment attempts against Trump during his first term, saying, “the whole thing was absurd.”
“I believe in stability,” he added. “I think elected leaders should serve out their terms. I don’t hate Trump personally.”
While Trump has not said publicly if he is weighing first use of a nuclear weapon, Under Secretary of War for Policy Elbridge Colby said Aug. 5 at the United States Strategic Command Deterrence Symposium that officials are looking to give the president and War Secretary Pete Hegseth “credible, rational nuclear options.”
Jim Hoft at the Gateway Pundit explained: “In other words, the Pentagon is conducting contingency planning – the exact type of planning Americans expect the military to undertake as Russia and China expand their nuclear arsenals.
“Carlson, however, leaped from strategic planning and Trump’s hardline warnings to Iran to demanding that the duly elected president be thrown out of office.
“Carlson argued that Trump’s previous warnings about the “total destruction” of Iran amounted to an implied nuclear threat because, in Carlson’s view, such devastation could not be accomplished with conventional weapons.
“That remains Carlson’s interpretation, not an announced White House policy or evidence that Trump has ordered preparations for a nuclear first strike.”
On Aug. 21, as WorldNetDaily reported, Trump hammered Carlson as a “loser,” saying on Truth Social: “Tucker’s ‘Views’ have fallen through the floor, and will only get worse. Nobody cares about him any longer in that he has become totally irrelevant, and happens to be, surprisingly, a very Low I.Q. individual. He could barely get out of College, and maybe he didn’t, but only really dumb people can’t make it through that wonderful four year time in life!
“Tucker wants to run for political office, but he should be required to take a cognitive test. He’s got no chance, but could probably take a couple of points away from whatever the Republican ticket happens to be! Tucker is a loser, and always has been!”
