White House Press Secretary Katie Zacharia

A new report from RightLineNews’ Eric Daughterty confirms that President Donald Trump feels no urgency regarding the status of a press secretary for the White House.

Earlier today, he confirmed he had told the latest, Katie Zacharia, that she did not have to continue in the post, where she faced a buzz saw of criticism from the media for her first few days at work.

The report said, “President Trump is in ‘NO RUSH’ to hire a new White House Press Secretary as Katie Zacharia moves out of the position.”

The word is that, “They think things have gone OK between the [Karoline] Leavitt and brief Zacharia era.”

Reports from Fox confirmed, “As long as Trump takes a lot of questions, there is not a lot of urgency to put somebody in the briefing room.”

WND reported earlier in the day on Trump’s comments, that he told Zacharia, “You don’t have to do this if you don’t want to … I think you should reconsider.”

A report posted by Fox said the president was speaking to members of the media on the South Lawn on Friday when he revealed his advice.

“Maybe it’s not for her,” he president said.

The report described her week-long tenure as “already marked by mounting scrutiny over her legal credentials and a rocky debut before the White House press corps on Tuesday. Critics have taken aim at Zacharia over her recent interviews attempting to recover from the bumpy start.”

Trump confirmed he was not firing her, explaining, “No no. I want her to have a good life. She’s been brutalized by the media.”

The report said a “senior White House official” said she was “transitioning out” of the role.

She was appointed to the role Oct. 9 and took over the White House podium just days later.
