Woke is Dead

Having grown up on a farm as a child in Ohio, and in the mountains of Colorado through middle school and high school, I spent most of my youth living outside in the wild. Disappearing in the woods for the day, hiking up mountains, and interacting with wild animals. Many of you may know the sound I’m talking about, when you unfortunately come across a wounded animal in the wilderness that’s screeching out its last breath of life. It’s heart wrenching and horrific.

That’s the sound of every member of the “woke” movement across the nation now.

The left wing, identity focused, gender confused, Trump hating community, has had a rough couple of weeks. Not just from President Trump doing, well, what he said he was going to do, but more so watching society begin to finally reject the “woke” agenda they’ve tried so hard to make rational and normal for the past decade.

The reboot of the adult cartoon South Park was the first major slam to their cultural revolution…. and the funny part? They didn’t even know it. South Park has been notorious for slamming any and every politician, or cultural icon. Because that’s what they do. They are also almost “prophetic” in the way they take a cultural issue and make an absurd stance even more absurd, by exposing its absurdity.

The first episode of the show was the perfect example. Not only did they take shots at Donald Trump (who doesn’t today?), their multi dimensional jokes went much deeper, as they called out the insanity of every “woke” leftist that has been screaming about Donald Trump being a “dictator” and only using his office for personal gain. It poked fun as the town rebelled against the death of “wokeness”, which they’ve made fun of for years, and mocked those that say some strange “Christian nationalism” is taking over. But, they missed all that entirely.

Then we have Sydney Sweeney, the model, actress, and recent sensation of ads promoting blue jeans for American Eagle. Watching the outcry from the left has been utterly mind blowing to think that NOT using a transgender person of color with blue hair in a marketing ad, is somehow Nazism and promoting white supremacy.

To be honest, I never thought I’d see such stupidity in my lifetime.

Are we really that dense in society to think that when a model talks about having good “genes” to promote good “jeans” (great marketing concept by the way), we are talking about eugenics and skin color supremacy, over the basic fact that someone just got lucky that society finds them attractive to look at?

Stock for American Eagle is on the increase by the way, because of the marketing plan.

It seems like finally culture is beginning to reject the absurd nature that everything should be “woke”, and focusing again on common sense. Businesses are deciding to reject that millennial progressive marketing manager coming straight out of college, and convincing corporations that partnering with some left wing activist is a good idea to reach the masses.

While we get back on track as a nation, the only question I have is how long until we hear the dying screams of wokeness finally begin to fade away into the distance?
