Writer’s War Room: From Pen to Profits delivers a tactical blueprint for authors to turn books into businesses. Authors looking to move beyond book sales and turn their ideas into scalable businesses found a clear roadmap in Writer’s War Room: From Pen to Profits, a live, interactive webinar hosted by Scribe Media and PR firm Farrow Communications.
Led by Dave Farrow, internationally recognized PR strategist and Guinness World Record holder, alongside Eric Jorgenson, CEO of Scribe Media, the session attracted more than 240 registered attendees, primarily authors with published or soon-to-be-published books.
The one-hour AMA-style event focused on a central theme: your book is not the product. It’s the platform.
“Most authors put years into writing the book and weeks into marketing it,” said Farrow. “From a business perspective, that’s backwards. Your book should be the engine that drives PR, credibility, speaking, consulting, and long-term revenue.”
The webinar emphasized several core lessons for authors seeking traction and visibility: credentials alone don’t guarantee publicity, as even major achievements require ideas to be framed as timely, data-driven stories that serve the media’s needs; PR should be viewed as a feedback loop rather than mere promotion, since media responses provide real-time insight into what resonates with large audiences; persistence is essential, because consistent follow-up is normal in media outreach and silence often means messages were missed, not rejected; compelling storytelling consistently outperforms polished frameworks, with concise, well-practiced personal narratives proving more effective on interviews and podcasts; and finally, books are never “too old” to promote authors can successfully relaunch titles months or years after publication by connecting their ideas to current trends, cultural moments, or emerging technologies like AI.
