Country music star Kellie Pickler is a big supporter of the United States military, and she has several awards to prove it. Including the Department of Defense Spirit of Hope Award–named for the legendary Bob Hope. The award recognized her for the amount of time she has spent giving back to the military community. Pickler has gone on numerous USO tours, visiting service members and their families.
She has also traveled to conflict zones to entertain the troops, which can be very risky for anyone traveling to places such as Afghanistan–where Pickler has made appearances. It’s not uncommon for those on USO tours to witness the not-so-great side of war or even come under fire themselves. For someone who has the option of remaining in the safety and security of the United States, Kellie Pickler has demonstrated that she’s willing to take the risk in order to show her support for the United States Armed Forces.
