T-Walls: The concrete barriers above are known as ‘T-walls’. You should be kicking yourself for not creating them, because they are EVERYWHERE in war torn countries. These individual concrete barriers are placed side-by-side and make up perimeter walls for nearly all US installations in Iraq and Afghanistan. The intent is to prevent visibility into the camp, but more importantly create a barrier and distance between threats, be it VBIEDs, small arms fire or your local suicide bomber.
