Our List of Firearms That You Should Consider For Concealed Carry

Springfield XD9 Sub-Compact, 9mm: Springfield is a solid brand with an outstanding offering in the world of sub-compact 9mm firearms.  The XD-9 is not only a handsome firearm, but affords the shooter the ability to carry 13 rounds, which is superior to the Glock 26 and other similarly sized concealed carry options.

Smith and Wesson MP9 Shield, 9mm:  Smith and Wesson is a strong brand with not only an outstanding history, but continued performance across multiple weapons systems.  The MP9 Shield is compact, yet still affords the carrier the ability to utilize 9mm ammunition, albeit with smaller magazine capacities, which come in 7+1 and 8+1 offerings.

Glock 30, .45 Auto: While many prefer the Glock 26 as their sub-compact 9mm carry because it offers 10 round magazines, it begs the question: why not carry a Glock 30?  The Glock 30 is similar in size, but fires .45 Auto with the same 10 round magazine capacity.  The weight is certainly an issue to consider, as it nears 34 oz when loaded, but the punch it can deliver is clearly superior to its 9mm brethren.

Rock Island Armory “Baby Rock”, .380 ACP:  While Rock Island Armory is not as popular as Glock, Sig and Smith and Wesson, they have a unique offering in the Baby Rock.  For those who choose weapons at least partly on appearance and enjoy the 1911 look, you will get a thrill out of carrying this lighter .380 M1911-styled pistol.

Glock 42:  One of two single stack Glock models, the Glock 42 is a light .380 ACP caliber weapon with a capacity of 6 + 1.  Sure .380 doesn’t pack the punch that its larger caliber brethren do, but the weight and functionality of the weapon make it a winner.  Remember “aim small, miss small.”

Springfield Range Officer Compact – CALIBER: .45 ACP:  Yes, you only get 6 + 1 capacity, BUT those 7 rounds are .45 ACP and will be more than sufficient to take down any threats. The handsome look doesn’t hurt the appeal of this weapon, though the empty weight of 28.5 oz is certainly something to consider.
