Building the Case
The prosecutors built their case around Moody wanting revenge on the court system after the failure of his appeal. Moody had used his attacks on Robinson and the NAACP as a diversion tactic to make it seem white supremacists were responsible. U.S. Attorney Louis Freeh said that Moody was a stealth bomber who had tried to anticipate every move in the case. According to Freeh, Moody had almost succeeded in his deception.
